What this task is

After the ID check, answer questions about familiar topics such as your hometown and daily life.

The questions are about your life, so you know the information. Give a clear answer and add a little detail.

The traps

The common mistakes in this question type. Learn to spot each one before test day.

One-word answers

"Do you like your hometown?" "Yes." Give two or three sentences so the examiner can hear your English.

Using a memorised answer

A memorised answer can sound unnatural. Answer in your own words.

What to do next time

Answer the question, then add one detail or reason.
Answer in your normal voice, as if you were talking to a teacher.
If the examiner interrupts, stop and answer the next question.
