What this task is

A question with four options, all about the same one or two paragraphs. Find that part of the passage first, then choose.

The correct option paraphrases the passage. An option that repeats distinctive words from the passage can be a trap. Check the meaning, not only the words.

Same words, different claim

A distractor reuses the passage's words but changes how they relate to each other. A familiar phrase can still be wrong.

True, but not the answer

A statement the passage genuinely supports, but it does not answer this question. Check the option against the question and the text.

One word too strong

The passage says "many". The option says "all". The passage "suggests". The option "proves". One word of exaggeration is enough to be wrong.

The paragraph next door

The option is true, but it comes from a different paragraph, not the one this question is about.

What to do next time

Find the place before you decide. Find the one or two paragraphs the question is about, then read them carefully. Searching for the options across the whole passage wastes minutes.
Eliminate options when one part is wrong. This is safer than trying to prove that another option is perfect.
Answers come in passage order. Question 3's region is after question 2's. Use that to narrow the search.
