Label the parts of a drawn object or structure using words from the passage.

Choose NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS from the passage for each answer.
What this task is
A technical-style drawing with labelled arrows and gaps. A machine, a structure, a natural formation. The passage describes the object in words. The diagram is that description drawn, and you carry the exact words across.
It only appears with passages that genuinely describe something physical. So its arrival tells you something: somewhere in the text is a paragraph walking through an object part by part. The labels usually follow the order of that walk-through.
The traps
These are built in on purpose. Know them by name and half the danger is gone.
The parts rarely arrive as a tidy list. A component named in one sentence is positioned in the next. The label needs both.
Two parts sit close together on the drawing and in the text. The arrow points at exactly one of them.
What to do next time
- Find the descriptive paragraphs first. The ones full of position language: above, beneath, attached to, running through.
- Use the diagram's printed labels as anchors and find them in the text. The gapped parts are described alongside them.
- Copy exactly, and check the word count on every label.
